Women have always been at the heart of working class movements, from the Eureka Stockade to the struggle for wages and conditions in the health and education sectors today. In these struggles sexist stereotypes tend to be confronted and women become leaders in their own right. This talk will draw out some of the most inspiring examples of this process, showing how class struggle creates the opportunities for women to transform themselves and their communities.
