Dual power and the institutions of working-class democracy

From the Russian soviets of 1917 to the Iranian shoras of 1979, revolutions have frequently thrown up forms of radical working-class democracy which threaten to challenge the authority of the capitalist state. Socialists refer to the revolutionary confrontation between these two types of institution as "dual power". This session will explain how this situation can emerge, and how workers can win the battle for power.
