The problems in the world can feel overwhelming - hunger, poverty, climate change, war. Changing our consumption habits to try to shift society in a better direction can seems like an obvious place to making a difference Yet socialists believe that it is deeply mistaken to think you can consume your way to meaningful social change. This session will argue against lifestyle-based politics and aim to convince activists of the need to take a collectivist, anti-systemic and working class approach to social transformation.
