Lenin's interventionist Marxism: Theory and practice of working class hegemony

Socialism 2017

Recently published work by Lars Lih, Tom Freeman, Alan Shandro and others have sparked a number of debates about Lenin's contribution to Marxist theory and practice. For instance, what do we make of What Is To Be Done, and how does that text fit with his organisation of the Bolshevik party through the years preceding the revolution? To what extent do the April Theses mark a break with his previous conceptions of the Russian revolution, and what relevance does all this have to revolutionaries today? All these issues and more will be open for discussion.
