Despite the real gains of the 60s and 70s, misogyny is rampant across society. This session will put forward a Marxist analysis of women’s oppression that will explain how inequality is perpetuated and why women’s oppression is crucial to the runnings of a capitalist society. From there, a socialist perspective on fighting for women’s liberation will be presented: combining immediate action in every aspect of daily life and a long term revolutionary strategy for social transformation.
